BASHH and National Archives Podcast

When our long standing client the British Association of Sexual Health and HIV (BASHH) wanted to celebrate 100 years since the introduction of Venereal Diseases Act in 1917, we spent a day at the National Archives. While there we discovered a story that captured our attention despite the passing of the decades, the story of the first recorded prosecution under the Act. Our writer and composer produced a script and score telling the story of the unfortunate young man who returned from the trenches with an STI, and who pressed charges against the ‘quack’ who treated him. We recorded ‘A bit of a scratch’ as a podcast with some wonderful actors, we worked with BASHH and the National Archives team to generate blogs on the process of bringing the story to life.
